Even though this holiday season is going to be very different from my ideal Christmas season, I’m excited to document our December. Last year, I used a traveler’s notebook for my December Daily. But, this year I decided to try my hand at my first 6×8 album.
I used another Felicity Jane red polka dot paper to back the semi-circle and added joy since it’s my word for December. Ali used this O Holy Night transparency at the beginning of her album and I chose to open my album with it as well. I even added a tiny gold star to dot the word ‘brightly’ like she did.
Behind the transparency sheet is another Product Play inspired page. Pam Baldwin shared this circle layout in the class and I thought it would be perfect for my reason why and introduction page.
My reason why for 2017 is as follows:
Happy December 2017–a month of finding the joys in the little blessings of our life right now. 2017 has turned into a more challenging year than I ever expected, but I’m determined to create our own magic this season. For Erin. For Zach. And for myself.
Here’s to all the little moments that make the good times greater and the hard times easier to bear. Here’s to snowmen and mittens and little red snowsuits. Here’s to care packages and red, white & blue Christmas trees and long facetime calls to the other side of the world. Here’s to Netflix marathons, to Daddy Dolls, to Murphy’s Law, and to a different but no less special kind of Christmas.
Here’s to the magic of the holiday season. Here’s to a December of memories.
Also on this page are 2.5 inch circular photos of each member of our family as well as a smaller circle with our names, ages, locations (since my husband is in a different country than we are), a few things each of us is currently into, and our favorite memory of the year.
For my first story of December, I knew I wanted to tell the story of ordering my December Daily kit from Ali. This was my first year ordering a kit and I was so excited for the reveal even though I was a little bit on the fence about doing the album this year.
I used a sticker from my Jasmine Jones kit, the welcome card that was included in my kit, and a photo of the kit unboxing I filmed.
To be honest, I always feel a little inept when it comes to embellishing my photos but I’m actually really happy with this page and feel I’m off to a pretty good start.
I’m looking forward to sharing more pages and processes from my December Daily as the month goes on!
